iPhone OS 3.0 is going to be revealed on March 17 in an Apple event.

Join us at an invitation-only event to learn about the new SDK and get a sneak peek at the iPhone OS 3.0 software. The event takes place at Apple, Building 4, Town Hall on March 17 at 10:00 a.m.

iPhozzle’s not going to be there, but Gizmodo will, so we can probably expect a live coverage.

I’m not missing it!

The iPhone Dev Team has released the “24kpwn LLB patch” code for a completely untethered jailbreak for the iPod Touch 2G. This is still a bit hard to do until the Dev Team releases a new version of PwnageTool or QuickPwn, but you may still do it.

Quote from the iPhone Dev Team Blog:

The iPod Touch 2G is now another member of the “pwned for life” family. It has a fatal flaw in its bootrom that means you will always be able to pwn these devices no matter what firmware updates come along. This is the full, untethered jailbreak, something that iPod Touch 2G users have not had before today.

Those of you who hang out on IRC or were able to read between the lines in the various blogs, forums, wikis and twitters may realize that we — and importantly, that’s a that’s a collective, cross-team “we” — had been hoping to hold onto this full ipt2g jailbreak until the next version of the iPhone came out. That didn’t happen, but maybe it’s too late for Apple to fix the bootrom in the next iPhone.

The raw patch to the firmware that transforms the “tethered” jailbreak into an untethered one was released here but it’s not yet packaged up into the PwnageTool or QuickPwn flows. But other threads there are pulling together tutorials and other tips for those of you anxious to try this out now. For the curious, the hole itself is explained here. There’s also a “pen and paper” analysis that helped the hybrid team venture transform the hole into an exploit. Hopefully that will be up for viewing soon too, if only because of its geeky beauty

Anyway, to all those iPod Touch 2G users out there who waited so patiently through all the various incarnations of the jailbreak for Apple’s latest device — welcome to the family!

For the rest of us, the jailbreak “cat and mouse” game will continue in the summer with the next iPhone. And the carrier unlock “cat and mouse” game continues as ever.

Now, quoting MuscleNerd:

“I think the usual IPTF crew will be able to use the above patch much quicker than we can coordinate an official PwnageTool/QuickPwn release (which involves at a minimum getting wizdaz, planetbeing, and poorlad all on IRC at once )

It will definitely be part of the next firmware spin cycle though. It’s just as bulletproof as the pwnage for iPhone 1G/3G and iPod Touch 1G.”

So we “borrowed” the IPTF (iPod Touch Fans) tutorial until we don’t do our own!

1. Download unofficialsn0w 2.0 for Windows.

2. Get the 2.2.1 iPod Touch Firmware HERE

3. Rename the 2.2.1 ipsw to OriginalFW.ipsw and place it in /IPSW

4. Run IPSW.bat (It will take a while)

5.
a.Right click on the jb.ispw and either open with Winrar or 7.zip

b.Go into Firmwareall_flashall_flash.n72ap.production

c. Delete the LLB file.(optional since it will be replaced by the new one)

d. Replace (by dragging) with the LLB file that’s in the same folder as the jb.ipsw.

e. Exit, continue to step 6

6. Place your iPod Touch 2G into DFU mode, plug it in and run RUNME.exe

7. Shift + Restore to JB.ipsw in iTunes and your done!!!

Have fun. :-D

The Cydia store is now OPEN!

For those who don’t know, the Cydia Store is a way to buy Jailbroken apps easily.
It is completely integrated with Cydia.

Down you’ll see a slideshow of the first Cydia Store app.

Also, as a side note… Our repo should be here soon… With 3 applications and iRescue scripts on launch!

iRescue will soon be availavable from our iPhozzle Repo that’s due to launch soon.

It will be a simple script that can be executed when your phone refuses to boot.
It basically automates all that manual steps described on our iRescue section.

When it’s released we recommend everyone to install this as it won’t execute unless you specifically order the device to. And it’s always good to have some sort of tool to execute on an emergency! Also please note that it will need a computer to be executed.

Installer: http://i.iphozzle.com/ and http://installer.iphozzle.com/

Thanks for your time and… stay tuned!

iPhozzle v2 is now completely up and running.

If you are wondering what happened to iPhozzle v1, we were on a crappy host that went down and as I am a person that ALWAYS takes backups (being ironic) I lost all the data.

Anyway, we are now on a powerful dedi and there is 0% chances of data loss. :-)

Stay tuned…

This mini-tutorial will explain you how to enable DFU m0de on the new MacBook’s or if you have upgraded to 10.5.6.

  1. You will need an account with ADC (Apple Developer Connection) this is free and takes a few minutes to sign up, you should read the terms and conditions carefully and you should only sign up if you are thinking of developing applications in the future - http://developer.apple.com/mac/
  2. Download the disk image “IOUSBFamily-315.4-log.dmg”  for Mac OS X 10.5.5 Build 9F33” (yes, that is a “5” in 10.5.5 - this is a developer debug package of the USB kernel extension).
  3. Unplug non-vital USB equipment, such as external DVD writers, USB scanners, USB mass storage devices, at the most leave a Keyboard and Mouse connected.
  4. Install IOUSBFamily-315.4.1.pkg from within the disk image
  5. Reboot your system!
  6. Perform necessary DFU activity with QuickPwn or PwnageTool.
  7. Download the disk image IOUSBFamily-327.4.0-log.dmg” for Mac OS X 10.5.6 Build 9G55”
  8. Intall IOUSBFamily-327.4.0.pkg from within the disk image

So, iPhozzle… is back.

iPhozzle was, and will continue to be, a great independent iPhone blog trying to serve the best news and tutorials on jailbreaking, new applications, etc.

We are still under preparations so you will surely see some broken and some other completely stupid and full of nonsense pages. :-P

We can only ask you to stay tuned. :-)

Thanks,
Eduardo.
